ROMERO POLO IS GOING TO CARRY OUT THE WORKS OF ONE OF THE SECTIONS OF THE ‘SUPERILLA’ IN BARCELONA’S EIXAMPLE DISTRICT
Romero Polo has been awarded with one of the 10 lots for the works of the ‘superilla’ program in Barcelona’s Eixample. Specifically, the company will carry out Consell de Cent Street, from Rambla Catalunya to Bruc street.
On Tuesday August 16, work began on the four green axes and four squares in the streets of Consell de Cent, Girona, Rocafort and Comte Borrell. This large green axis will mean 58,000 square metres more for pedestrians and residents of the Eixample district.
The project will replace the asphalt with ‘panots’ and granite, which will be the new pavements, and the green will go from occupying 1% to 12% of the road. In addition, all the streets will be accessible and there will be more street furniture and better lighting. The work on the ‘superilla’ in what is Barcelona’s most populous district will take eight and a half months and has a total budget of 52 million euros.
