ROMERO POLO COMPLETES THE FIRST PHASE OF THE REMODELING OF LA RAMBLA IN BARCELONA AND BEGINS THE SECOND
Romero Polo, through the joint venture formed with Rubau, has completed the first phase of the renovation works on La Rambla in Barcelona. This phase covers the section between the Colón statue and Santa Madrona, involving a total area of approximately 23.000 m². The work has improved the connection between Avinguda de Drassanes and the coastline, extending La Rambla towards the waterfront in a more pedestrian-friendly and green space.
Now that the first phase of the works has been completed, the second phase will begin, focusing on the roadway and sidewalk on the Besòs side, corresponding to the Gothic Quarter. Over the next ten months, and in order not to disrupt traffic in the area, only the Raval side will be open for upward traffic.
The transformation of this iconic avenue, with a budget of 55,6 million euros, is set to be completed by 2027. The project will turn La Rambla into a more comfortable, green, and cultural promenade, giving greater prominence to pedestrians.
